Attachment A
Roseville Parks Recycling Pilot Report
January 2018
Background:
As part of the 2016 Request for Proposals for Recycling Services released by the City of Roseville
potential contractors were asked to submit a proposal for collecting recycIingfrom the city parks.
Although Eureka Recycling was chosen asthe City's recycling partnerthe city was not readyto absorb
the costs associated with parks recycling at the beginning of the contract. Instead, the city and Eureka
agreed to do a one year pilot for recycling in Roseville parks to gather information on the best way to
create a cost effective recycling program for parks that had the smallest impact on trails and visitor
experience.
The pilot began in May of 2017 with 34 stops spread between Central Park— Lexington west of Bennet
Lake and Central Park—Victoria east of Bennet Lake.
As with recycling in many Roseville parks, carts were located in different types of locations. These
includes:
• Carts in Parking lots at Parks
• Carts a short walkfrom parking lots at sporting areas like ball fields ortennis courts
• Carts out on pathways within the parks
