EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF A MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Roseville,Ramsey County, MN,was.duly held at the City Hall on Monday the 29th day of January, <br /> 2018, at 6:00pm. <br /> The following council members were present: Laliberte, McGehee, Willmus, Etten and Roe <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member Etten introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOUTION No. 11486 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br /> ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council (the"Council") of the City of Roseville, MN(the <br /> "City"), as follows: <br /> WHEREAS, for many years the Roseville License and Passport Center has been a tenant <br /> leasing space in the "Lexington Shoppes" having a street address of 2719 North Lexington <br /> Avenue, Roseville, MN 55113, and a legal description of"Lot 8, Block 1, THE LEXINGTON" <br /> (hereinafter the"Property"). <br /> WHEREAS, the City's License and Passport Center currently pays rent to the owner of <br /> the Property. The facilities in which the License and Passport Center is currently located are <br /> inadequate to deliver proper customer service and to best comply with evolving State and Federal <br /> Regulations for the proper operation of the License and Passport Center.. <br /> WHEREAS, the current location for the License and Passport Center has several <br /> advantages for the City of Roseville. The Property is located directly across the street from the <br /> Roseville Municipal Complex, including the Roseville City Hall, the Roseville Park and <br /> Recreation Administrative Center, the headquarters for the Roseville Fire Department, and other <br /> municipal services and programs. The Property is adjacent to Veterans Park. The Property is <br /> centrally located within the City of Roseville,there is easy access to the Property,and the Property <br /> is located on a public bus route. <br /> WHEREAS, for several years, the City of Roseville staff has been analyzing the City's <br /> real estate needs, specifically including the space in which the Roseville License and Passport <br /> Center is currently located, as well as the future needs for the best and most efficient use of space <br /> for City Departments, Park and Recreation Facilities, and other municipal uses. <br /> 1 <br /> 82490140 <br />
