Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, February 12, 2018 <br /> Page 17 <br /> Parks and Rec Director Brokke briefly reviewed this park master plan, recom- <br /> mending approval as detailed in the RCA and attachments dated February 12, <br /> 2018. <br /> Mr. Brokke recalled that funding was identified in 2012 to help remedy the lack <br /> of parks and open spaces in this part of Roseville. In 2016, this parcel was pur- <br /> chased, and the planning started in 2017. He outlined the community engagement <br /> process, which had a tremendous turnout. <br /> Mr. Brokke then presented the financial estimates for the project: <br /> Development and Construction Costs $200,000 <br /> Final Detail Design $ 20,000 <br /> Total Expenses $250,000 <br /> Adopted Renewal Program Funding <br /> for SE Roseville $250,000 <br /> Total Revenues $250,000 <br /> Mr. Brokke reported that the next step in the process is to adopt the proposed park <br /> master plan, approve the budget, and begin construction. The, Parks and Rec <br /> Commission will also consider a name, as per the City's naming policy. <br /> Parks Superintendent Taylor outlined the proposed concepts of the plan, noting <br /> that the community build approach will be utilized in this project as well. <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment, with no one coming for- <br /> ward. <br /> Willmus moved, McGehee seconded, adoption of the Park Master Plan for 2134 <br /> Cleveland Avenue and authorize a $250,000 budget for 112 the development of <br /> the park as outlined and presented. <br /> Council Discussion <br /> Councilmember Willmus stated this is a great chance to bring green space into <br /> this part of the community. <br /> Councilmember McGehee stated this is a difficult site but a very good plan. <br /> Councilmember Etten noted this lack of green space came up frequently as part of <br /> the parks master planning process.
