ONGOING TOPICS <br />456) <br />a) Education Primer for Parks and Recreation <br />46 <br />47Chair Gelbach and Vice-Chair O’Brien introduced the updated Education Primer. Chair <br />48Gelbach suggested adding “review/update the Primer” to the yearly schedule included on <br />49page 10 of the Primer. <br />50 <br />51The Commissioners discussed that it was a helpful document and that it was laid out <br />52nicely. <br />53 <br />54Commissioner Baggenstoss suggested adding biographical information (potentially <br />55including pictures) for Parks and Recreation Staff and Commissioners to the Primer. <br />56 <br />b) Cedarholm Community Building Replacement <br />57 <br />58Staff gave an update of the Cedarholm Community Building replacement. The project <br />59continues to be on schedule. <br />60 <br />61Updated pictures were provided which showed the steel beamsin place and walls starting <br />62to be built. The walls and trusses are being constructed using certified lumber. <br />63 <br />64Staff continues to work on policies and operational plans including the alcohol policy in <br />65anticipation of the building opening in 2018. <br />66 <br />STAFF REPORT <br />677) <br />68The City Council passed support for the OVAL bonding in 2020. City Council is <br />69looking to the Parks and Recreation Commission to be part of the process. Stantec is <br />70working with Roseville Parks and Recreation to develop a Capital Improvement <br />71Report for the OVAL, to be included in the bonding information. <br />72The 1716Marion Street and 2134 Cleveland Avenue Park Plans will be brought to <br />73the City Council in early 2018. <br />74Roseville Parks and Recreation will continue to work with Ramsey County to identify <br />75the deer population in Rosevillevia aerial survey. Once results are released to <br />76Roseville, the information will be provided to the Commission and City Council. <br />77A DNR Grant in the amount of $353,000 was awarded to Roseville Parks and <br />78Recreation for the NaturalResource Renewal Program. The Grant documents are <br />79being finalized and will be brought to the City Council. <br />80PotentialParks and Recreation Youth Commissioner, Joey Quick, will be presented <br />81to the City Council for appointment in January 2018. <br />82The Parks and Recreation 2018 winter brochure will be in homes the first week of <br />83January, 2018.
