5.Ongoing Topics <br />I.Marion Street Park Planning Update <br />In your packet is a copy of the initial concept options and the preferred concept <br />for the Marion Street Park Planning process. <br />The overall community planning process included the following: <br />Tuesday, June 27, 2017 Information gathering Popsicles in the Park <br />(60 attendees) <br />Wednesday, June 28, 2017 Information gathering Discover Your Parks <br />program at Tamarack Park (100 attendees) <br />Tuesday, September 12,2017 community gathering to hear <br />opportunities and brainstorm (75 attendees) <br />Tuesday, October 17, 2017 <br />Concept design review and listening session on site (55 attendees ) <br />Concept design review and listening session at Galilee Church (10 <br />attendees) <br />On-line, phone call, website, information at city facilities, individual <br />meetings have also been encouraged, offered and utilized <br />Rec-Connect outreach program communications <br />Very preliminary construction cost estimates for the base plan are $200,000. An <br />additional 55% ($110,000) may occur if others (construction manager) manage <br />this project. At this point, it is the belief of staff that by managing this project in- <br />house, the park could be build for approximately $250,000. <br />Requested Commission Action: Review, update, provide feedback <br />II.Cedarholm Community Building Replacement Update <br />The construction of the Cedarholm Community Building continues. Footings and <br />foundation walls are complete. Preparations are underway for the floor <br />installation in preparation then for the walls. <br />The Golf Course is still open during construction in temporary quarters. <br />Staff will plan to provide you with an update at your meeting. <br />This topic is a regular agenda item each month in order to keep the Commission <br />updated, allow for continued community input, and to gather advice. <br />Requested Commission Action: Review, update, provide feedback <br />Staff Report - <br />6.Othernew or relevant communicationsprovided as necessary. <br />Other <br />7. <br />Adjourn <br />8. <br /> <br />
