Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> DATE: May 16, 2018 ITEM: 8a <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: City Engagement Efforts <br /> Be a Part of Roseville's Flower Power Team <br /> Join Roseville's Flower Power team and get your hands dirty. Volunteer to plant flowers at <br /> Roseville's Central Park and help Roseville bloom. <br /> On May 19, we're planting flowers along Lexington Ave. Rain or shine, we've got an ambitious <br /> day planned, and we're looking for 120 volunteer to help plant flowers from 9:00 a.m. to noon. <br /> The boulevard will be divided into plots and volunteers will be assigned to each plot. The city <br /> will provide plants and tools, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves. <br /> Contact Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs at racbc....b .,�,s(g jjy2ffi2seville� or 651-792- <br /> 7028 for information about volunteering. Groups, individuals and families are encouraged to <br /> participate. People of all ages are welcome and will have a role to play. Even if you're new to <br /> gardening, we'll find a task for you. Thanks for your help creating lasting environmental impacts <br /> in our parks. <br /> Filing for Roseville City Council, Mayor Begins May 22 <br /> Two Roseville City Council seats and the mayor's seat will be up for election this year. Filing <br /> will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning May 22 until June 5. City offices will remain <br /> open until 5:00 p.m. on June 5. Individuals interested in running for the council or mayoral seats <br /> must file an Affidavit of Candidacy at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive or at <br /> Ramsey County Elections, 90 West Plato Blvd., St. Paul. <br /> Qualifications to run for office include: <br /> Eligible voter in the City of Roseville; <br /> 21 years of age or older upon assuming office; and <br /> Resident of the city for at least thirty days before general election. <br />
