Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission Agenda Item DATE: May 16, 2018 ITEM: 8a ITEM DESCRIPTION: City Engagement Efforts Be a Part of Roseville's Flower Power Team Join Roseville's Flower Power team and get your hands dirty. Volunteer to plant flowers at Roseville's Central Park and help Roseville bloom. On May 19, we're planting flowers along Lexington Ave. Rain or shine, we've got an ambitious day planned, and we're looking for 120 volunteer to help plant flowers from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The boulevard will be divided into plots and volunteers will be assigned to each plot. The city will provide plants and tools, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves. People of all ages are welcome and will have a role to play. Even if you're new to gardening, we'll find a task for you. Thanks for your help creating lasting environmental impacts in our parks. Filing for Roseville City Council, Mayor Begins May 22 Two Roseville City Council seats and the mayor's seat will be up for election this year. Filing will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning May 22 until June 5. City offices will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on June 5. Individuals interested in running for the council or mayoral seats must file an Affidavit of Candidacy at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive or at Ramsey County Elections, 90 West Plato Blvd., St. Paul. Qualifications to run for office include: Eligible voter in the City of Roseville; 21 years of age or older upon assuming office; and Resident of the city for at least thirty days before general election.
