ks*s 07 7TY T T1 <br /> National Native American Heritage Month <br /> November 2017 <br /> Whereas: Native Americans, the original settlers of this country, have brought values and <br /> ideas that have become ingrained in the American spirit, including respect for the natural <br /> environment, respect for cultural differences, and respect for diversity as a source of strength; <br /> and <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville is located on land that was once home to many Dakota and <br /> Ojibwa Indians; and <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to promoting racial understanding and <br /> equality and justice as a fundamental aspect of a healthy community; and <br /> Whereas: By Act of Congress of the United States, November is declared as National <br /> American Indian Heritage Month; and <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville invites all members of the community to celebrate 2017 <br /> National Native American Heritage Month"Water is Life," which represents the importance of <br /> protecting our natural resources; and <br /> Whereas: This observance offers special opportunities to become more knowledgeable <br /> about the Native American heritage and to honor the many Native American leaders who have <br /> contributed to the progress of our nation. <br /> Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby proclaim the month of <br /> November 2017 as Native American Heritage Month in the City of Roseville and urge all <br /> citizens to join in appreciation for our rich and diverse community. <br /> In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br /> In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br /> to be affixed this twenty-third day of October 2017. <br /> Mayor Daniel J.
