Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission Minutes <br /> October 18, 2017—Draft Minutes <br /> Page 9 of 10 <br /> Ms. Olson highlighted the Park Planning meeting this week for Marion Street Park. Also, flu <br /> shots are available at City Hall. The Police Department is hosting their citizen police academy <br /> that talks about crime scene investigations. There is information available about volunteer efforts <br /> in maintaining parks. The fire station open house was earlier this week. The Rice Street- <br /> Larpenteur Gateway Vision Plan meeting will be held next Thursday to discuss the future of the <br /> corridor. <br /> Announcements <br /> Commissioner Dailey noted there is a proposed ordinance coming before the City Council <br /> regarding rental licensing for multifamily rental dwellings of five or more units. She encouraged <br /> the Commissioners to look at the proposed ordinance to see how it affects equity. <br /> Ms. Olson noted that the Code Enforcement used to inspect those dwellings, and they are <br /> transitioning to the Fire Department handling those inspections. <br /> Future Agenda Items <br /> a. Civility Training <br /> Ms. Olson noted Civility Training is still on the agenda because she has not been directed to take <br /> it off. <br /> There was general agreement to remove this item from a future agenda,pending the discussion <br /> with the Council. <br /> Commissioner Peterson noted that the Proclamations will be a future agenda item. <br /> Commissioner Manke noted the previous Community Engagement Commission had a member <br /> who made a list of all action items at the conclusion of each meeting, and that would be helpful <br /> with HRIEC as well. <br /> Ms. Olson offered to send a copy of her meeting notes to Chair Holub and Vice Chair Dailey <br /> after each meeting, who will then compile any additional notes and send on an action item list to <br /> the rest of the Commission. <br /> Adjournment <br /> Commissioner Peterson moved and Commissioner Eichenlaub seconded a motion to adjourn. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned 9:18 p.m. <br />
