Item 8b. <br /> Meeting Calendar <br /> Background <br /> Each year,the City must set a regular meeting schedule for both City Council and Commission meetings <br /> due to the data practices and open meeting laws.Typically, the Human Rights, Inclusion, and <br /> Engagement Commission has been meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the City <br /> Council Chambers. Following this schedule, the 2018 meeting dates would be as follows: <br /> January 17 <br /> February 21 <br /> March 21 <br /> April 18 <br /> May 16 <br /> June 20 (Rosefest parade is June 25.) <br /> July 18 <br /> August 15 <br /> September 19 <br /> October 17 <br /> November 21 (Day before Thanksgiving) <br /> December 19 <br /> State law states that public meetings cannot be held on the following days due to elections: <br /> No meetings after 6:00 p.m. on February 6, 2018-Caucus night <br /> No meetings between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br /> August 14, 2018—Primary Election <br /> November 6, 2018—General election <br /> Recommendation <br /> Set the 2018 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement meeting schedule. <br />
