EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 7 h day of May, 2018, at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: McGehee, Willmus, Laliberte, Etten; and Roe <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member McGehee introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11507 <br /> A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE ROSEVILLE PUBLIC WORKS, <br /> ENVIRONMENT,AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AS ROSEVILLE'S <br /> GREEN STEP CITIES "GREEN TEAM" <br /> WHEREAS: The City of Roseville has participated in the GreenStep Cities program <br /> since 2014 to implement sustainability initiatives and best practices; <br /> WHEREAS: The purpose of GreenStep Cities is to enlist municipalities in a voluntary <br /> and organized state-wide program to promote sustainability and improve the <br /> environment; <br /> WHEREAS: Community involvement and engagement is an essential component of <br /> City activities and programs,providing valuable insight and support from Roseville <br /> residents, and helping the city recognize the needs and desires of the community; <br /> WHEREAS: According to Best Practice 24.1 of the GreenStep Cities Program, the City <br /> of Roseville wishes to designate a Green Team to lead, coordinate, and report to <br /> community members on the implementation of GreenStep best practices and other <br /> sustainability initiatives; <br /> WHEREAS: The Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission is <br /> composed of City residents and community members, and is tasked with advising the <br /> City Council,City Manager, and the Director of Public Works on environmental,public <br /> works, and transportation issues; <br /> WHEREAS: The City Council finds it in the public interest to further pursue its <br /> commitment to a sustainable community by designating a Green Team to oversee <br /> progress in the GreenStep Cities program. <br />
