Misc. Items: <br />• Public Works staff will replace the old pedestrian signals on Dale St near the Nature Center <br />and on Hamline Avenue at Garden Avenue in early June with a newer version pedestrian <br />signal called a rectangular rapid flashing beacon or RRFB. These devices have been proven <br />to be more effective for getting motorist to comply with state law requiring vehicles to stop <br />for pedestrians in crosswalks. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Switched winter equipment over to summer operations. <br />• Spring Street Sweeping completed. <br />• Repair plow damage in R -O -W's. <br />• Repair direct hit mailboxes. <br />• Streetscapes pruned back. RPZ's inspected. Charged some irrigation systems. <br />• Started spray injection patching. <br />• Started patching the 20 water breaks that happened after asphalt plants closed last fall. <br />• Repaired several storm sewer pipes, catch basins. <br />• Sign repair from winter damage. <br />• Compost deliveries started 5/4/18. <br />• Repaired/fabricated seasonal equipment. <br />• Repaired a gate valve and hydrant on Terrace Drive. <br />• Repaired a portion of the sanitary sewer service at Lexington Park. <br />• Took delivery of our new mainline inspection camera Staff has been trained and have <br />been looking at areas in the sanitary sewer system where sewer backups have occurred. <br />• Collected water samples for bacteriological testing. <br />• Commissioned the new generator and switchgear at the Booster Station and received <br />training. <br />• Completed repair of Boiler #1 at City Hall. <br />• Completed preventative maintenance on all overhead doors at Public Works and City <br />Hall. <br />• Continued replacing meter heads and radios. <br />Attachments: <br />A: 2018 Project Map <br />B: April Development Activity Report <br />
