N0. 20-41 1988 1988 RECMD ADOPTED 150,700 30,882 238,393 Objective: To provide opportunities in adult sports, adult recreational classes, youth recreational classes, youth sports, gymnastics, Senior Citizen programs, and miscellaneous other activities in a way that meets the needs of the City residents, while being self-supporting in terms of direct costs. Budget Review: There has been a substantial increase in fees resulting in a larger surplus of after direct expense revenues. Many of the fee increases have been applied to offset some of the indirect expenses. Historically, these have not been paid by the partici- pant, but have been applied to other budgets such as Park Main- tenance and Administrative; i.e., satellite rental, insurance costs, ag-lime, mailings, program supervision, and facility rental. The fee supported activities budget also assumes the cost of rental fees for the lease of the Parkview gymnasium for the gymnastics and other preschool and exercise programs. The following are areas of change within the Fee Supported Program: New Programs: Youth Basketball, Grades 1- 2 Senior programs: Beginning and Intermediate Ball Skills Older Adult Racquetball Cooking with PYrs. Claus Older Adult Softball Older Adult Bowling ' Older Adult Bocce Ball Expanding Programs: Boys' Gymnastics Golf Clinics Youth Boys' Softball Facility Rental (Picnic Shelters) Kid's Korner Adult Gym Hockey Golf Lessons The majority of the expanded programs are due to a substantial increase in the number of sessions offered due to increased participation.
