The
golf course was purchased in 1967, and the annual profits from the user charge have been
sufficient to cover all operating and capital costs since the purchase date.
Gresn fees were incrased in 1998 to $8.00 per rour.d.
The City's golf operation has recovered fiscally from having the course closed during parts of
the past two fiscal years for a reconstniction project . The course was closed early at thv end
of the season in 1996 and opened late in 1997 so that a reconstruction of greens, fairways, and
tees could be cormpieted.
Even though green fees have been increased slightly each year, the course remains very
competitive with the othcr metro .acilities.
Fol!owing is a summary of golf aperations:
pe,ratine Revenes
Gross Proiits on ivterchandise Sold
User Chazges
Other
Total Operating Revenues
12
122Z
$ 11,164
217,4i0
4 129
?37 41
;
$ 16,130
2$0,063
8,822
'0 O1
