Roll Call <br /> Mayor Roe called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. Voting and Seating <br /> Order: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe. City Manager Patrick Trudgeon, <br /> City Attorney Mark Gaughan, Public Works Director Culver, City Engineer Jesse Frei- <br /> hammer, Finance Director Chris Miller, Assistant Finance Director Jason Schirmacher, <br /> Building Official Dave Eglund, were also present. <br /> 2. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> 3. Approve Agenda <br /> Councilmember McGehee requested removal of Item 9h for separate consideration. <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, approval of the agenda as amended. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 4. Public Comment <br /> Mayor Roe called for public comment by members of the audience on any non-agenda <br /> items. <br /> Roger Hess, Jr., 1906 Wagner Place, suggested banning tobacco entirely in Roseville, <br /> rather than passing a policy of age discrimination against 18-, 19-, and 20-year-olds. If <br /> people are old enough to join the military at age 18, and can vote at age 18, they should <br /> be able to purchase tobacco at age 18. <br /> Mayor Roe noted the hearing on the tobacco age will be discussed by the Council on June <br /> 18th. <br /> Vince Trovato, 2250 Victoria Street, asked about increasing staffing for the Police De- <br /> partment. He asked whether the Council has done anything to address the issue, given <br /> the increase in crime. He noted that the Council only receives a summary level of crime <br /> statistics, but he has asked the Department directly for more information. He is shocked <br /> by the double-digit increase in some areas like burglaries. He would like the law en- <br /> forcement have the ability to arrest criminals, which is only possible with more staffing. <br /> Chelsea Holub, 2946 High Court, commented on a press release that the Police De- <br /> partment released about an incident that occurred two weeks ago, where an officer used <br /> force during an arrest. She strongly urged the Council to take up this issue for a discus- <br />
