.� <br /> Ita <br /> 07 7TY T Y"*� <br /> Hispanic Heritage Month <br /> September 15 - October 15, 2017 <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville recognizes and honors contributions of all members of our <br /> community; and <br /> Whereas: September 15 is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American <br /> countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua; and Mexico achieved <br /> independence on September 16; and Chile achieved independence on September 18; and <br /> Whereas: In 1988 the United States Congress adopted a resolution designating September <br /> 15 to October 15 of each year as National Hispanic Heritage Month; and <br /> Whereas: Hispanic Americans bring a rich cultural heritage representing many countries, <br /> ethnicities and religious traditions which contribute to America's future; and <br /> Whereas: The Hispanic community has had a profound influence on our country through <br /> their strong commitment to family, faith, hard work, and services, and they have enhanced and <br /> shaped our national heritage with centuries old traditions that reflect the multiethnic and <br /> multicultural customs of their community; and <br /> Whereas: During National Hispanic Heritage Month, the United States celebrates the <br /> culture and traditions of Spanish speaking residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico, <br /> Central America, South America and the Caribbean. <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville invites all members of the community to celebrate 2017 <br /> Hispanic Heritage Month"Shaping the Bright Future of America;" and <br /> Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby proclaim September 15 to <br /> October 15, 2017 to be Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, <br /> State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br /> In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br /> to be affixed this eleventh day of September 2017. <br /> Mayor Daniel J.
