Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> DATE: June 20, 2018 ITEM: 7e <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Youth Commissioner Appointment Recommendation <br /> Background <br /> Chapter 201 of the City Code establishes that the City Council may appoint youth members <br /> under the age of 18 and enrolled in high school to serve one-year terms as ex-officio youth <br /> commissioners to Advisory Groups such as the Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission (HRIEC). Currently the HRIEC has two youth commissioners, Elizabeth Hansel and <br /> Acer Iverson. Both youth commissioners' terms expire at the end of July. Staff has spoken with <br /> both youth commissioners regarding their interest in serving an additional term, and both <br /> commissioners are interested in being reappointed. In the past, the HRIEC has made a <br /> recommendation to the City Council on youth commissioner reappointments. <br /> Recommendation <br /> If interested, provide a recommendation to the City Council on reappointment of youth <br /> commissioners. <br />
