City of Roseville <br />Pathway Master Plan <br />e) City will make efforts to schedule snow removal to minimize double <br />shoveling. <br />E DU CATI ON/I N FOR MATI ON/REG U LATI ON <br />20) The City shall regularly update this Plan. <br />a) The Pathway Master Plan will be adopted by reference into the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />b) The Plan should be reevaluated once every three years. <br />21) Utilize pathway projects to educate the community about the benefits of a well- <br />planned pathways system. <br />a) Staff will pursue grants when available to assist in funding the <br />implementation of pathway networks. <br />b) Staff will report successes in pathway projects to the local papers as an <br />educational and promotional practice. <br />22) Provide proper signage for a safe, user-friendly pathway network. <br />a) Regulatory and warning signs for pathway users and for roadway users <br />adjacent to pathways shall be placed and designed to current national and <br />state regulations and standards. <br />b) Promote the use of wayfinding devices (including on-line mapping resources) <br />and signage to better orient users to the Roseville system and encourage <br />pathway etiquette. <br />23) Develop regulations for pathway use and enforcement. <br />a) Staff will develop pathway regulations to be published and posted to further <br />improve pathway usability. <br />24) Develop and provide events that promote non -motorized modes of travel. <br />a) Add a pathway safety program to the Safety Camp. <br />b) Continue to promote Roseville's pathway facilities with events like the <br />Rosefest "Tour de Roses." <br />25) The City will develop a promotion and education plan. <br />a) Provide a "safe biking" class in the Community Education program. <br />b) Encourage area cycling shops to support and promote the City's pathway <br />network. <br />c) Utilize the OVAL for cycling events both competitive and educational. <br />d) Gather and/or develop educational and promotional videos for use at <br />schools, promotional events or local cablecasts. <br />e) Collaborate with school officials on ways to educate students on pathway <br />safety and use. <br />f) The City will widely circulate pathways plan and maps. <br />g) The City will encourage citizen volunteers to aid in pathway maintenance and <br />improvements. <br />Page 27 <br />
