7.Follow-up to City Council Joint Meeting <br />Thank you for fitting another night into your schedule to meet with the City Council. <br />This is an opportunity for you to review yourJune 18, 2018joint meeting withthe <br />City Council.Included in your packet are the minutes of that meeting for your <br />reference. <br />Requested Commission Action:Review and discuss. <br />8.Ongoing Topics <br />a.Cleveland Avenue and Marion Street Park Site Update and Naming <br />Discussion <br />Construction is set to begin soon onthe new park sitesat 1716 Marion <br />Streetand 2134 Cleveland Avenue. Thesenew parkswill be an important <br />addition to the park system. <br />We arehosting an informational meeting displaying thefinal playground <br />design and answeringany questions. The invitation letter for each site is <br />included in your packet. <br />Also in your packet is the most recent list of name suggestions and the <br />naming policy regarding assigning names to city facilities. Please bring <br />your top three nameswith reasons why and how it relates to the city <br />policy to begin a robust discussion. The names you bring may be from <br />the list or some other that you think might fit. <br />As you think about recommending a name for each park to the City <br />Council, you should be prepared to outline the process, a preferred name, <br />how it relates to the policy and why. <br />Requested Commission Action:Review, discuss, begin to reduce the <br />list with a process to identify whyand how it relates to the city policy on <br />naming facilities. <br />9.Staff Report - Other new or relevant communications provided as necessary. <br />10.Other <br />11.Adjournment <br />3 <br /> <br />
