RegularCity Council Meeting <br />Monday, June 18, 2018 <br />Page10 <br />CouncilmemberWillmusnotedthattheideaofacommunitycenterhaslongbeen <br />ontheforefrontofthiscommunitysmind.Onethinginrelationtothatis <br />gatheringspacesandmeetingspaces.Overthelastfewyears,theCityhastaken <br />stepstowardscreatingmoremeetingspaces.AstheCouncilputsforwardthe <br />communitysurvey,itwillbeinterestingtoseeifthatperspectivehaschangedor <br />not. He believes that connectivity will continue to be an important issue. <br />Councilmember Laliberte thanked the PRC forits hard work. <br />MayorRoecommentedonewaytogetmoreinvolvementinthenaturalresources <br />effortswouldbetorecruitlocalcompanieswhoarelookingforthingsfortheir <br />employeestobecomeinvolvedin.Healsosuggestedthinkingaboutgoingto <br />native plantings in some parks to reduce the amount of maintenance needed. <br />Mayor Roe thanked the Commission for their joint meeting. <br />Recess <br />MayorRoerecessedthemeetingatapproximately7:46p.m.,andreconvenedatapproximately <br />7:48 p.m. <br />c.ConsideraRequesttoPerformanAbatementofUnresolvedViolationsat <br />651 County Road B2 <br />d.ConsideraRequesttoPerformanAbatementforUnresolvedViolationsat <br />578 Ryan Ave W <br />e.ConsideraRequesttoPerformanAbatementofUnresolvedViolationsat <br />1693 Ridgewood Ln N <br />BuildingOfficialEnglundbrieflyreviewedthisrequest,recommendingapproval <br />asdetailedintheRCAdatedJune18,2018.Henotedtherenterofthepropertyis <br />movingforwardwithpurchasingtheproperty.Thisistheinformationgivento <br />staff,thoughthereisnothinginwriting.Thefenceisindisrepairintwoareas, <br />andstaffisaskingforcorrections.Thereisalsoalargemulch/leaves/debrispile <br />atthebackofthefencethattheresidentindicatedwasbeingtakencareof,butit <br />has not been addressed. <br />CouncilmemberMcGeheenotedthishousehasbeeninabatementbefore,andthe <br />issuewasthefencewasfallingdown.Sheaskedwhattheresidenthasinmindto <br />repairthefence.TheCityshouldnothavetokeepreturningtothispropertyover <br />and over. <br />BuildingOfficialEnglundrespondedhehastalkedwiththeresidentabout <br />removingthefenceandleavingitopenorinstallinganewfence.Hetoldthe <br />residentthatwiththeabatementprocess,theentirefencecouldberemovedandit <br />couldbeappliedtothetaxes.Theresidentsaidhewouldthinkaboutitandthat <br />50 <br /> <br />
