1ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />2DRAFT MEETING MINUTES FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />3July 12, 2018 6:30pm <br />4 <br />5PRESENT: Baggenstoss, Bole,Gelbach,Hoag,Newby,O’Brien, Stoner, Warzecha <br />6ABSENT: Heikkila, Quick <br />7STAFF:Brokke <br />8 <br />91)INTRODUCTIONS <br />10 <br />112)ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />12 <br />133)PARK DEDICATION –MIDLAND CREST (2237 WEST CLEVELAND DR.) <br />14Staff relayed that tonight’s special meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was <br />15called in order to discuss and make a recommendation on a time sensitive Park Dedication <br />16proposal at 2237 West Cleveland Drive. <br />17 <br />18Staff provided an overview of the property, its location and the specific proposal. The <br />19proposed development would combine three existing parcels into a five lot subdivision with <br />20an out lot in the rear to help capture storm water. <br />21 <br />22Staff refreshed the Commission on the various strategies outlined in the Park and Recreation <br />23System Master Plan(Master Plan) to enhance Parks and Recreation opportunities in SW <br />24Roseville. <br />25 <br />26The Park Dedication cash amount would be $8,000 and the land amount would be .21 acres. <br />27As a size comparison reference, the parcel purchased for parkland atthe corner of Cleveland <br />28and County Rd. B is .79 acres. <br />29 <br />30The Commission discussed the option for land, including the potential limited use of a .21 <br />31sized park and the difficulty in reaching that specificarea ofSW Roseville. <br />32 <br />33Chair O’Brien asked if any discussions regarding Park Dedication land had happened with <br />34the developer. Staff responded that it was mentionedthat they may not be able to move <br />35forward with the development if the land option is exercised. <br />36 <br />37The Commission discussed the need to be very mindful on these types of opportunities and <br />38thoroughly consider the overall benefits to the park system but not to just accept anything in <br />39order to satisfy the general lack of Park and Recreation opportunities identified in the Master <br />40Plan. <br />8 <br /> <br />
