I Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br /> 2 Meeting Minutes <br /> 3 DRAFT—July 18, 2018 -DRAFT <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Commissioners Present: Cat Beltmann, John Eichenlaub, Chelsea Holub, Monica Bolinger, <br /> 7 Lauren Peterson, Subbaya Subramanian, and Etienne Djevi <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Youth Commissioners: Acer Iverson and Elizabeth Hansel <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Commissioners Absent: Michelle Manke (excused) and James Ryerson (excused) <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Staff Present: Rebecca Olson, Assistant City Manager <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Call to Order/Roll Call <br /> 16 <br /> 17 The Human Rights, Inclusion, and Engagement Commission (HRIEC) meeting was called to <br /> 18 order at 6:35 p.m. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Approve Agenda <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Commissioner Holub moved and Commissioner Eichenlaub seconded a motion to approve the <br /> 23 Agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Warren Wolfe, 1999 Snelling Avenue N. <br /> 28 Mr. Wolfe stated he is a retired newspaper reporter and is very interested in the work of this <br /> 29 Commission. He recently joined the League of Women Voters, in part so he could report to <br /> 30 them on the work of the Commission. The League encourages increased participation in <br /> 31 government and to increase understanding. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Commissioner Djevi asked whether the League plans to host a forum for Mayoral and Council <br /> 34 candidates. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Assistant City Manager Olson commented that is the plan, though the details as to date and time <br /> 37 are still being worked out. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Approve Minutes <br /> 40 <br /> 41 a. June 20, 2018 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Commissioner Djevi moved and Commissioner Holub seconded a motion to approve the June <br /> 44 20, 2018, Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission meeting minutes as presented. <br /> 45 Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 46 <br />
