She also requested the <br /> 47 line to be cleaned up for clarity. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Commissioner Manke moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to approve the <br /> 50 August 15, 2018 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission meeting minutes as <br /> 51 amended. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 52 <br /> 53 b. June 7, 2018 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br /> 54 <br /> 55 Commissioner Manke moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to approve the <br /> 56 June 7, 2018 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission meeting minutes as <br /> 57 presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 58 <br /> 59 Receive Reports <br /> 60 Assistant City Manager Olson reported Commissioner Eichenlaub submitted his resignation last <br /> 61 week. Information regarding this was brought before the Council for the Council to decide if the <br /> 62 Council wanted to re-advertise for the vacancy, fill the vacancy from the pool of applicants or <br /> 63 not fill the vacancy. The Council decided they would like to fill the vacancy from the current <br /> 64 remaining pool of candidates. The September 241h Council meeting will include appointing a <br /> 65 new commissioner to fill Commissioner Eichenlaub's seat. <br /> 66 <br /> 67 Chair Beltmann reported the Commission received an email from a resident regarding the <br /> 68 resident's issues with her landlord and some unfair practices happening. She indicated she is <br /> 69 following up with the resident to get additional information. She noted it did not seem like it is <br /> 70 something for the Commission to handle but she is getting more information to see how the <br /> 71 residents can be directed to the appropriate resources. <br /> 72 <br /> 73 Ms. Olson stated the City is aware of that case and have followed up with the resident as well. <br /> 74 <br /> 75 Youth Commissioner Report <br /> 76 Youth Commissioner Hansel reported Teens for HR club at Roseville High School is starting up <br /> 77 next Tuesday. One topic the club will be focusing on is this fall is the upcoming election. The <br /> 78 Secretary of State's office has a program where students participate in a mock election and she is <br /> 79 coordinating helping out with that. <br /> 80 <br /> 81 Chair Beltmann thought it would be helpful to provide some background on that group and to <br /> 82 learn more about it. <br /> 83 <br /> 84 Youth Commissioner Hansel noted she started the club when she was a freshman and is now a <br /> 85 senior. She stated the club has done a variety of projects in the school ranging from sexual <br /> 86 assault awareness month, to LGTBQ rights. The club did a big stereotype project that was <br /> 87 displayed at multiple libraries in Ramsey County and City Hall. There are a lot of discussions <br /> 88 within the group and they try to do projects based on what club members are interested in doing. <br /> 89 The group also teaches ninth graders in the classroom once a trimester and talk about Human <br /> 90 Rights topics, international topics and some topics prevalent to teenagers' lives. <br />
