Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission Minutes <br /> September 19, 2018 —Draft Minutes <br /> Page 3 of 13 <br /> 91 <br /> 92 Commissioner Eck thought it was great that Youth Commissioner Hansel created the group as a <br /> 93 homegrown project and she wondered if the teens get any credit for it in school. <br /> 94 <br /> 95 Youth Commissioner Hansel stated they do not get credit. <br /> 96 <br /> 97 New Business <br /> 98 <br /> 99 a. Proclamation Updates <br /> loo Assistant City Manager Olson summarized one of the items the Commission has been <br /> 101 working on after discussion with the City Council was preparing City Proclamations. <br /> 102 The Commission is trying to figure out if the proclamations the City has been doing <br /> 103 are still relevant and if the proclamations are appropriate for Roseville and Roseville <br /> 104 specific and if the language of them are timely and relevant or if there should be <br /> 105 changes. One of the things the Commissioners were tasked with was receiving a <br /> 106 proclamation to review and go out into the community and find a group in Roseville <br /> 107 that would be impacted by that proclamation and get feedback on whether the group <br /> 108 felt the proclamation was appropriate or not. <br /> 109 <br /> 110 Ms. Olson stated there are several proclamations that have come back for approval, <br /> 111 some that are already finalized and some that need to be worked on. She noted there <br /> 112 are still a couple proclamations outstanding but the ones that are up for review should <br /> 113 be discussed and potentially finalize them. The plan is then to bring them forward to <br /> 114 the City Council as a package. <br /> 115 <br /> 116 Ms. Olson reviewed the proclamations with the Commission and indicated which <br /> 117 ones were finalized, had due dates and needed work to be done on them. <br /> 118 <br /> 119 • Women's History Month <br /> 120 Ms. Olson indicated this proclamation was finalized at the last meeting. <br /> 121 <br /> 122 • Fair Housing Month <br /> 123 Commissioner Bolinger indicated she restructured the entire proclamation to <br /> 124 match what is out there for a template for HUD. <br /> 125 <br /> 126 Ms. Olson stated from Commissioner Bolinger's email a template from the <br /> 127 National Association of Realtors was also used. <br /> 128 <br /> 129 Commissioner Bolinger stated she had a realtor as well as a mortgage banker <br /> 130 who deals with fair housing and first-time homebuyers to review it for validity <br /> 131 and accuracy. <br /> 132 <br /> 133 Commissioner Hassan stated he has been in a number of sub committee <br /> 134 meetings before and have talked about housing in general in the State.
