Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, September 24, 2018 <br /> Page 10 <br /> d. Consider Name Recommendation for Park Property at 2134 Cleveland Ave- <br /> nue <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke briefly highlighted this item as de- <br /> tailed in the RCA and related attachments dated September 24, 2018. <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission Chair Nancy O'Brien presented the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission recommendation and reason for the naming of the park. <br /> Mayor Roe asked if there was any public input. There was none. <br /> McGehee moved, Laliberte seconded, to name the park property at 2134 Cleve- <br /> land Avenue—Midland Gardens Park. <br /> Council Discussion <br /> Councilmember McGehee thought this was a fine name. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte agreed and appreciated all the work and outreach that <br /> went into getting there. <br /> Mayor Roe appreciated the description of how the ideas were solicited in that <br /> process as part of that discussion given. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> e. Consider Name Recommendation for Park Property at 1716 Marion Street <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission Chair Nancy O'Brien presented the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission recommendation and reason for the naming of the park. <br /> Mayor Roe asked if there was any public input. <br /> Councilmember McGehee stated she liked the name Unity Park because of what <br /> was discussed earlier about the unification of all of the communities in the very <br /> close area of St. Paul and Maplewood as well. <br /> McGehee moved, Etten seconded, to name the park property at 1716 Marion <br /> Street—Unity Park. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br />
