City of Roseville, Parks and Recreation - Natural Resource Program Volunteer Leadership Outline <br /> <br />Overview: Roseville is committed to protecting, managing and restoring the unique natural heritage represented in <br />city parks as a means to improve wildlife habitat, native cover, and water and air quality. The success of the work <br />depends upon strong community partnerships and engagement to expand staff capacity and build awareness and <br />support for this important work. <br />The city has developed the Volunteer Outline to effectively and efficiently manage and support the volume of work <br />and volunteers needed to restore and maintain natural resources in the City. The outline identifies volunteer roles <br />and volunteer leaders and the areas of responsibility. <br />Geographic Areas <br /> <br />The Natural Resources Program will follow geographic areas. These include: <br /> <br />Sectors:four areas of the city identified as Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest, and <br /> <br />Constellations: fifteen subareas of the sectors. Additionally, the Adopt-a-Park program and volunteers <br />will also collaborate on the overall Natural Resource mission. <br /> <br />Qualifications: <br /> Master Naturalist or established knowledge of native and invasive plant species. <br /> Physically mobile and able to perform manual work of light to moderate difficulty. <br /> Experience in and commitment to the outdoors and conservation. <br /> Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. <br /> Enjoy interaction with groups and working with diverse communities. <br /> At least 18 years of age. <br /> Able to attend minimum of one annual training and information session. <br /> <br /> <br />Project Staff Lead: James Taylor, Roseville Parks Superintendent <br /> <br />
