Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission Minutes October 17, 2018 – Draft Minutes Page 11of 13 447 448 Ms. Olson noted the festival does not coincide with the Indigenous Peoples 449 Proclamation. 450 451 Chair Beltmann stated what she likes about the Indigenous People and Hispanic 452 Heritage proclamations is that it highlights two of the City’s diverse populations and 453 gives the Commission the opportunity in terms of thinking about the inclusion part of 454 the committee and gives them the opportunity to focus on that. 455 456 Commissioner Peterson stated she was comfortable with either of the two 457 proclamations. 458 459 Ms. Olson thought Roseville had a larger population of Spanish descent than 460 Indigenous people. 461 462 Commissioner Bolinger stated she was not aware of any event in Roseville for 463 Hispanic and may be a reason for the City to do this. 464 465 The Commission agreed to have Hispanic Heritage Month as a possible pilot 466 proclamation. 467 468 Commissioner Peterson thought the High School could be included as a partner 469 because there is a Hispanic club and liaison. 470 471 Chair Beltmann indicated Commissioners’ Peterson and Bolinger will work on the 472 human trafficking pilot proclamation while Djevi will work on Hispanic Heritage 473 Month. 474 475 d.
