Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, October 15, 2018
Page 3
Group would have the ability to do some promotion at the sites. She thought
there might be something done at each of the senior buildings as well.
Mr. Trudgeon stated that was a great suggestion and thought there would need to
be volunteers to do that.
Councilmember McGehee stated some residents from Greenhouse Village con-
tacted her and thought it would be good if the Council had the numbers of where
residents are actually getting on and off the circular bus. She thought there was
an inherent problem with the bus and Brittany Marion Apartments. One issue is
that there are not enough seats to take children and she wondered if Cub Foods is
really where the residents want to go. She would like to see the details of who
gets on, at what stop, and how many people are actually using this from the dif-
ferent locations and maybe alter the route more.
Councilmember Laliberte assumed the only issue was not access to food but also
access to a pharmacy or some other place.
Councilmember McGehee stated most of the senior facilities have buses to get
residents to the places needed.
Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment.
Public Comment
Mr. Scott Olson
Mr. Olson stated NewTrax has realized there is not the ridership the company
would like to have. NewTrax is finding that even though it has been only 339
rides that were tracked, it has probably been affecting different people. He stated
every week there are different people riding.
Mr. Olson stated some of the senior facilities do not have their own transporta-
tion. Lyngblomsten Apartments does not have their own transportation which is
why NewTrax sat down with them to discuss what it would take for them to con-
