1 Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br />2 Meeting Minutes <br />3 DRAFT – November 14, 2018 - DRAFT <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 Commissioners Present:Cat Beltmann, Monica Bolinger, Etienne Djevi, Jill Eck, Ahmed <br />7 Hassan, andLauren Peterson. <br />8 <br />9 Youth Commissioners: Acer Iversonand Elizabeth Hansel <br />10 <br />11 Commissioners Absent:Michelle Manke (excused), Kathy Macomber(excused) <br />12 <br />13 Staff Present: Rebecca Olson, Assistant City Manager <br />14 <br />15 Call to Order/Roll Call <br />16 <br />17 The Human Rights, Inclusion, and Engagement Commission (HRIEC) meeting was called to <br />18 order at 6:33 p.m. <br />19 <br />20 Assistant City Manager Olson indicated Commissioner Ryerson submitted his resignation, is <br />21 pursuing an education degree, andhis class will be meeting on Wednesday nights. The <br />22 resignation was brought to the City Council and she did not believe the vacancy would be <br />23 immediately filled due to recruiting for the standard term vacancies. She thought the City <br />24 Council would fill the vacancy when the terms begin in April. <br />25 <br />26 Commissioner Peterson asked if Ms. Olson could update the Commission on whose terms will <br />27 be ending. <br />28 <br />29 Ms. Olson indicated there are two members whose terms will end in April 2019. Commissioner <br />30 Hassan and Commissioner Macomber are the two whose terms are up. She noted she will be <br />31 reaching out to the two Commissioners to see if there is interest in continuing. <br />32 <br />33 Oath of Office <br />34 This was postponed until the new commissioner will be in attendance. <br />35 <br />36 Approve Agenda <br />37 <br />38 CommissionerBolinger moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to approve the <br />39 Agenda as presented.
