Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,January 14, 2019
Page 9
priorities and costs are great and the potential benefits to the City are great as
well.
Councilmember Groff stated looking at the Legislative priorities, there is a wide
range, so he did not think the lobbyists were going to be able to pass them
through. The lobbyists are going to have to find sponsors and make connections
at the Capitol and throughout the State, especially for the OVAL and that project
alone is going to take considerable work and time to get done.
Councilmember Laliberte agreed and thought if the Council could have met more
often at the end of the year, the Council could have gone through the process of
getting various prices from various firms. But, she does entrust the City Manager
to have queried neighboring communities to get a good recommendation. Consider a Community Development Department request to perform an
abatement of unresolved violations of City Code at 2465 Dale Street
Building Official Dave Englund briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the
RCA and related attachments dated January 14, 2019.
Mayor Roe asked if the out-of-state property owner expressed any concern about
being billed for these abatement costs.
Mr. Englund stated staff recommended to the owner to take care of it with the
towing company. The towing company did require the owner to be onsite to sign
for it and the owner could not get anyone to do it locally for them. The City tried
to work with the owner to get this taken care of. The owner does believe it is a
neighboring resident that has placed this on his property.
Laliberte moved, Etten seconded, to direct Community Development Staff to
abate the public nuisance violations at 2465 Dale Street by contracting with a
