Communication Items <br />139 City Engineer Jesse Freihammer provided a brief review and update on projects <br />140 and maintenance activities listed in the staff report dated November 27, 2018. <br />141 10 <br />142 Member Kors stated on his way to work everyday he drives by the High School and <br />143 sees the progress. He wanted to voice his disappointment in the County in that the <br />144 County has the opportunity to channelize that stretch between Hamlin and <br />145 Lexington where the school is, and he did not see that happening now with the huge <br />146 retaining walls going in on the southwest corner. <br />147 <br />148 Mr. Culver stated the Coy has plans to slightly widen the intersection at <br />149 Lexington and County Road-44B2 in order to provide left turn lanes on B2. He <br />150 thought the County made an application for HSIP (Highway Safety Improvement <br />151 Program) funds for that intersection and he thought the County felt there was a <br />152 pretty good chance of getting that. The County theoretically worked with the <br />153 School District n the location of the retaining walls to support that geometric <br />154 rovement. <br />155 <br />156 r. Freiha mer thought the Coun there was twenty feet of buffer where the <br />157 existing retaining wall is and where the right of way is located so he thought the <br />158 County felt there was more than enough room. <br />159 <br />160 Mr.ulver stated the City has a substantial MnDOT project coming up Summer <br />161 2019 on the 35W/MNPass lane. Information, once available will be posted on the <br />162 City website so eo le are aware of the impacts. <br />163 <br />164 5. Complete St* Policy <br />165 City Engineer Jesse Freihammer stated a Complete Streets Policy was presented to <br />166 the Commission at the October 23 meeting. Based on the Commission's comments, <br />167 language regarding environmental corridors and wildlife movement as well as <br />168 project impacts to existing trees and landscaping was added. A project evaluation <br />169 checklist was also created and included in the appendix of the document. <br />170 <br />171 Member Misra stated she liked the changes made in version 4.5.
