The commission discussed the importance of resident feedback to help staff stay updated on <br />the current status of park amenities. <br />The 2019 draft Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects include: <br /> Vehicle and equipment replacement of a water truck, Toro mower, trailer replacement <br />andskid steer <br /> Facility improvement at the Gymnastics Center (in collaboration with the school <br />district) <br /> Potential playground replacement <br /> <br />The 2019 draft Park Maintenance Operational projects include: <br /> Removal of the pump house building at Reservoir Woods Park <br /> Repair shelter apron at Central Park Victoria Ballfields <br /> Replace roof of Mapleview Shelter <br /> Natural Resource Management Program <br /> Emerald Ash Borer <br /> Ongoing Operations and Maintenance <br />o Paint portions of park buildings <br />o Evergreen Park irrigation system repairs <br />o Arboretum fountain repairs <br />o Trash and recycling enhancements <br /> <br />The Commission discussed how this program is a proactive approach to evaluate and plan for <br />park improvement needs. They also appreciated the forward and thoughtful thinking. <br />Commissioner Hoag suggested utilizing districts to organize the planning. <br />5)DISCUSS PARKS AND RECREATION COMISSION GOALS <br />Chair O’Brien introduced the idea of creating Parks and Recreation Commission Goals. <br />Commissioners Gelbach and Stoner expanded upon the 2013-2015 example goals that were <br />provided in the packet. They noted the use of short term and long term goals as well as <br />assigning an owner to each goal to ensure that the goal was moving forward. Commissioner <br />Stoner noted that he felt 7 goals were too many. He thought that 4-5 was a more manageable <br />number. <br /> <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />
