<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE
<br />Meeting,Tuesd~,Januar,y 4th,l949 at 2 PM.

<br />The Village Council met on the above date in adjourned regular session with
<br />the following members present:Mueller,Membrez,Carlson,Pothen,Hammersten.Ira Karon,
<br />attorney and Frank Leinen,treasurer were also present. The elected members at the
<br />annual election,Dec 7th,l948 took the oath of office and were duly qualified
<br />according to the law.They are:Geo.A.Membrez,clerk,Harry Carlson,trustee,Frank
<br />weinhilzer,jBstice of the peace and George Guligowski,constable. Mueller presided.

<br />The Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting and motion by Hammersten,
<br />seconded by Mueller,they were approved as read.Roll call:Ayes-(5),Xays-(O).

<br />President Mueller exprsssed his opinion on rezoning matter in the Village of
<br />Roseville.He suggested that the Council should think serious¡Y of adopting certain
<br />poli£~.~ on rezoning matters.Altho no definite ideas were submitted,he thought it
<br />might~se to consider the matter for the benefit of the Village.

<br />The rezoning matter of Stephen J.Krannak on which public hearing was held
<br />December 21st and continued to this meeting came for consideration. Upon assurance
<br />of Mr.Krannak that attractive buildings will be erected on this property,Membrez
<br />moved, seconded by pothen to zone this property as described in Iti..nutes of Dec 6th
<br />from Farm-res'dence to Business District.Roll call:Ayes-(5),N~s-(0).

<br />The Public hearing on the Den E.Lane petition requesting the zoning of the
<br />following described real estate foom Farm-residence District to a Business district:

<br />WAS declared open.Mr.Yi1ner Carley representing the petitioner stated that he
<br />had been hired to carry through the proposed plans of developing the above propert,y
<br />as a shopping center as shown on a plan which he submitted to the Council and he
<br />assured the members of the Council that he will carry these plans to completion.
<br />He was of the opinion that this developement would start in spring 1949. The
<br />"Fom- Sale"signs which have been erected on this property will be immediately
<br />removed if the property is rezoned,:ur Carley said.
<br />, Mr.C1aude Allen also representing Mr.Lane assured the Council that he had complete
<br />confidence that this property will be developed as proaised bT IIr.Lane.
<br />lIr.otto Rich..r said he did not have aIV'objection to this plan provide that
<br />the proposed developement is actually started within reaeeu.ble tille.'Be indicated
<br />that he 'Was opposed to rezone any property for"'-epe~tiV8 reasons.
<br />Mr.Frank Leinen said he 'Was of the same opinion.
<br />Kr.Theo.H.Schult-z suggested that onlj: half of the property be zoned,he said it
<br />was too large a tract to zone at one tiae.
<br />Ernest Markham wanted to know if anyone knew any property which Kr'.Lane has actually
<br />develèped for business.
