o Staff plans to acquire a new asset management software in May with implementation planned to be completed by the end of 2019. Staff recently selected an Asset Management system after a long review period. This item will go to the City Council for approval in May. Organics Drop off Site o Staff is working with Ramsey County to finalize an agreement for the construction, operation and maintenance of an organics drop off site at the City's Leaf Recycling Center located on Dale Street south of County Road C. Staff anticipates bringing this agreement to the City Council this spring with actual construction of the site occurring this summer. City Council Update: • April o Staff gave an update on safety improvements planned this summer on Larpenteur Avenue between Dale Street and Rice Street. • Preliminary plans are to restripe Larpenteur Avenue from a 4 lane road section to a 3 lane road section. Additionally three pedestrian crossings would be added with pedestrian refuge islands. • Attachment E is a preliminary layout. • An open house is scheduled at the Community School of Excellence at 270 Larpenteur Avenue on Tuesday, April 30 from 5:00-7:30 to get feedback on the project. Major Maintenance Activities: • Plow trucks were out for snow event April 10'' and 1 lth. • Asphalt pothole patching. • Started watermain break restoration. • Landscape maintenance in streetscape areas such as County Road C and Twin Lakes Parkway. • City wide street sweeping o Working with the University of Minnesota in four areas of town to study street sweeping. • Street sign maintenance. • Compost turning. • Mailbox repairs. • Interviewed applicants and hired a fulltime maintenance worker who will start 4/29/19. • Began the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Cleaning program. • Repaired one broken water main. • Assisted the Parks and Oval staff to find a leak in the refrigeration system. • Attended OSHA safety training. • Completed installation of automation of the maintenance facility's HVAC system. • Removed hydrant bags from county road hydrants. • Assisted the Street division plowing streets and cul-de-sacs. • Collected water samples for bacteriological and disinfection by-product testing. • NorthTech Roofing started the roof replacement of the Parks garage. • Continued replacing meter heads and radios.
