o Staff plans to acquire a new asset management software in May with <br />implementation planned to be completed by the end of 2019. Staff recently <br />selected an Asset Management system after a long review period. This item will <br />go to the City Council for approval in May. <br />Organics Drop off Site <br />o Staff is working with Ramsey County to finalize an agreement for the <br />construction, operation and maintenance of an organics drop off site at the City's <br />Leaf Recycling Center located on Dale Street south of County Road C. Staff <br />anticipates bringing this agreement to the City Council this spring with actual <br />construction of the site occurring this summer. <br />City Council Update: <br />• April <br />o Staff gave an update on safety improvements planned this summer on Larpenteur <br />Avenue between Dale Street and Rice Street. <br />• Preliminary plans are to restripe Larpenteur Avenue from a 4 lane road <br />section to a 3 lane road section. Additionally three pedestrian crossings <br />would be added with pedestrian refuge islands. <br />• Attachment E is a preliminary layout. <br />• An open house is scheduled at the Community School of Excellence at <br />270 Larpenteur Avenue on Tuesday, April 30 from 5:00-7:30 to get <br />feedback on the project. <br />For more information on any of these items please reference the City Council Agenda on <br />the City's website. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Plow trucks were out for snow event April 10'' and 1 lth. <br />• Asphalt pothole patching. <br />• Started watermain break restoration. <br />• Landscape maintenance in streetscape areas such as County Road C and Twin Lakes <br />Parkway. <br />• City wide street sweeping <br />o Working with the University of Minnesota in four areas of town to study street <br />sweeping. <br />• Street sign maintenance. <br />• Compost turning. <br />• Mailbox repairs. <br />• Interviewed applicants and hired a fulltime maintenance worker who will start 4/29/19. <br />• Began the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Cleaning program. <br />• Repaired one broken water main. <br />• Assisted the Parks and Oval staff to find a leak in the refrigeration system. <br />• Attended OSHA safety training. <br />• Completed installation of automation of the maintenance facility's HVAC system. <br />• Removed hydrant bags from county road hydrants. <br />• Assisted the Street division plowing streets and cul-de-sacs. <br />• Collected water samples for bacteriological and disinfection by-product testing. <br />• NorthTech Roofing started the roof replacement of the Parks garage. <br />• Continued replacing meter heads and radios. <br />
