42 <br />43 6)RECREATION REVIEW INCLUDING SUMMER PROGRAM & ROSEFEST <br />44 Recreation Superintendent Lauren Deal provided an update on the recreation team and their <br />45 offerings. The Recreation Team consists of: <br />46 7 Professional Staff <br />47 2 Customer Service Members <br />48 50+ Summer Seasonal Staff <br />49 40+ Year Round Instructors/Facility Staff <br />50 <br />51 The Roseville Parks and Recreation Team offers the following throughout the year: <br />52 Fee and Non-fee Special Events <br />53 Recreational Facilities – Rental Options and Program Locations <br />54 Youth Programs <br />55 Adult Leagues <br />56 Older Adult Wellness <br />57 <br />58 In the summer Roseville Parks and Recreation partners with summer associations to offer <br />59 athletic programs. This provides a nice complement to the Parks and Recreation programs as <br />60 the associations offer more competitive options. <br />61 <br />62 Recreation Supervisor Gina Robinette highlighted the summer programs that are offered <br />63 through Roseville Parks and Recreation, including: <br />64 Over 50 options for summer youth sports (over 585 participants) <br />65 Youth Arts, Theatre and Enrichment programs <br />66 Half day and full day camps (June-Aug) <br />67 Leaders in Training (LIT) for 12-16 year olds offering leadership volunteering <br />68 Youth outreach program REC Connect. This program is hosted out of Tamarack Park <br />69 and Unity Park and provides a recreation opportunity to youth who may have <br />70 financial or transportation barriers <br />71 Discover Your Parks (DYP) is a party in the park rotating between different parks <br />72 each Wednesday. The schedule is on-line and in the Parks and Recreation brochure <br />73 The Roseville Puppet Wagon is offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings <br />74 at various parks throughout the city <br />75 <br />76 The Rosefest Parade will kick off Rosefest this year on Monday, June 24. A new Rosefest <br />77 event will be “Walk your dog with King Boreas” that is scheduled for June 25. Rosefest will <br />th <br />78 wrap up on July 4 with the Party in the Park and Fireworks in Central Park. <br />79 <br />80 Commissioner Heikkila asked how the new 3 year old soccer program began.
