Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, May 6, 2019
Page 28
Mr. Trudgeon reviewed Environmental Sustainability with the Council.
Councilmember Willmus stated correlation with the first goal, the reduction of the
carbon footprint, he would put something in the measure of success pertaining to
vehicle fleet.
Mayor Roe thought more broadly, in addition to the establishment of a percent re-
duction, is perhaps to start talking about specific plans to achieve it as a measure
of success.
Mayor Roe indicated the Council meeting is coming up to its curfew so he won-
dered if there would be time to review the City Manager Goals or should it be ta-
bled to another meeting.
Councilmember Laliberte stated she did not want to rush that for the City Manag-
er so she would rather table it to the next meeting and wrap up with the consent
agenda.
Councilmember Etten stated he would rather move forward with the City Manag-
er knowing what he is tasked to do. He noted it is May already.
Consider Approval of City Manager Goals for 2019-20
Councilmember Etten briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the RCA and re-
lated attachments dated May 6, 2019.
Mayor Roe indicated the periodic check-ins would be open discussions and not
closed sessions.
Mr. Trudgeon thought the check-in would be with the sub-committee.
Mayor Roe indicated that was correct and in the report.
Councilmember Willmus stated one of the things he would like to do with Mr.
Trudgeon is when looking at expected outcomes or milestones, to actually drill
down a little more and be more definitive and developing that metric a little better
for these.
Mayor Roe thought if the City Council was comfortable with the draft and under-
standing that the sub-committee would be meeting with Mr. Trudgeon to develop
some more specific metrics or measures of success to tie with this and bring that
back as a final draft.
Councilmember Willmus stated he would be interested in some feedback from the
Council that could go back to Mr. Trudgeon for ideas.
