<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Meeting,Tuesday,Apri1 4th,1950 at 2 PM <br /> <br />1.07 <br /> <br />The Village Council raet on the above date with the following memhers <br />present:Mue1ler,Hammersten,Carlson,Willmus,Membrez. Ira Karon, attorney waE <br />also present. <br />The clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting and on motion by <br />Hammersten,seconded by Carlson, they were approved as read.Rol1 Ca11:Ayes-(5), <br />Nays-(O). <br />Mayor Mueller declared the Public hearing open on the application for <br />rezoning the following described real estate from C1assAresidence District to <br />Business District: <br />"Except the North 1283 feet, the West 435.6 feet of the Nwi of the NEt <br />"of Sect.4,Town 29N,Range 23W,Village of Roseville,subject to Lydia st. <br />"eJ1d Fairview Ave. <br />Mr. Milner Carley representing the petitioner Walter Stepnitz spoke in <br />favor of the rezoning. There being no one present opposing this rezoning,Mueller <br />moved, seconded by Carlson th~t the property described above be zoned from <br />Residential Class A district to a Business District. Roll Call:Ayes-(S),Nays-(O). <br />The Public HearinG cn the application from Joseph Weinholzer to zone from <br />Farm IDistrict to Industrial District the following described real estate was <br />declared open: <br />The North 5 acres, exclusive of Railroad right-of-way, of that part of <br />the East 22~ acres of the North! of the lrwi of Sect.lO,Town 29,Range 23, <br />lyingwesterly of the easterly 363 feet thereof. <br />JOEeph Weinholzer stated that this property will be used for the erection of <br />a Warehouse for steel storage. <br />It appeared that some of the property owners \Vi thin 500 feet who si5'11ed the <br />petition misunderstood the area of land described above.They felt that the zoning <br />to Industrial district should not extend South behond the Southwest corner of <br />otto Rich'-r property and the Southeast corner of M~rrinan's property,now zoned <br />Industrial. <br />A motion was finally made to zone that portion which lines up with the Southwest <br />corner of otto Richter's property and the Southeast corner of Merrinen~roperty <br />by Har.unersten eBd seconded by Hueller.Roll Ca~1:Ayes-(5),Nays-(O). <br />Mr. John Stuber presented a petition requesting the -village Council to vacate <br />St.Albans St.described as follows: <br />A strip of land 60 feet in width the centerline of which begins at a point <br />which is 30 feet ea!?t of the Southeast corner of Lot .5 ,Asylmll Outlots, thence <br />running north parallel with and 30 feet east of the Easterly lines of Lots <br />5,6,7,8,9 and 10 to a point where said centerline intersects the east and west <br />~ line of Section 14,To1nl 29N,Range 2)W and there terminating. <br />Ha%ffiersten moved, seconded by Mueller that petition be accepted and Public <br />Hearing be had on this matter on May 2nd,19.50 at 2 o'clock P.M. at the Village <br />Hall of the Village of Roseville,Hamline and County Road B.Roll Call:Ayes-(5), <br />Nays-(O). <br />E.L.Bump made a request for a Epecial permit to reside in the basement of <br />a home he proposes to build at 1727 No.:)a1e. CarlEon moved, seconded by Willmus <br />to issue a special permit for six months from the date hereof.Roll Call:~res-(5), <br />Nays-( 0). <br />Mr Crampton,Ass't cOlmty Engineer suggested that a written request be mailed <br />in to the office for Village road maintenance.He was informed that the Village <br />Council is making a stu~v of road maintenance in the Village and a decision will <br />bp. made at a future meeting . <br />Mr. Hugo Radman outlined a proposed plan to develop the Northeast corner of <br />Snelling Ave and County Road B on the property owned me Mr. Den E.Lane.He suggested <br />that various business could be established there to be operated on an auction plan. <br />It was felt that the type of business he proposed to promote would be~etriment to <br />the Village.Me;~brez moved, seconded by Willmus to deny the issuance of a permit to <br />Mr .Radrnan.Roll call:Ayes-(l' ,Nays-( ~). <br />
