1 ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />2 MEETING MINUTES FOR <br />3 JUNE 4, 2019 6:30 p.m. <br />4 <br />5 PRESENT:Arneson, Brown, Dahlstrom, Hoag, Newby, O’Brien, Stoner <br />6 ABSENT:Baggenstoss, Heikkila, Quick <br />7 STAFF: Brokke, Christensen <br />8 <br />9 1) INTRODUCTIONS <br />10 <br />11 2) ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />12 Chair Baggenstoss and Commissioner Heikkila notified staff prior to the meeting that they <br />13 would not be in attendance. <br />14 <br />15 3) APPROVAL OF MINUTES – MAY 7, 2019 MEETING <br />16 Commissioner O’Brien moved to approve the May 7, 2019 meeting minutes. Commissioner <br />17 Arneson seconded. Motion passed unanimously. <br />18 <br />19 4) PARK DEDICATION REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION – 2686 AND 2994 OLD <br />20 HIGHWAY 8 <br />21 Staff reviewed the proposal for a 4-lot development utilizing two properties located at 2986 <br />22 and 2994 Old Highway 8 County Road B West. <br />23 <br />24 The proposal includes two lots on 1.29 acres. Two lots already exist with two new lots being <br />25 created. The project qualifies for Park Dedication. The cash amount for the two additional <br />26 lots would be $8,000 ($4,000 per additional lot) and the land amount would be .129 acres <br />27 (10% of 1.29 acres). <br />28 <br />29 This parcel is located in Constellation (a) near Sandcastle Park. The Parks and Recreation <br />30 System Master Plan does not identify parcels to be acquired in this area. <br />31 <br />32 The Commission discussed the location of the parcel and its proximity to Sandcastle Park. <br />33 They also discussed if the rates for the acreage and dollar amounts were equitable. <br />34 <br />35 Commissioner Dahlstrom proposed recommending the cash in lieu of land in the amount of <br />36 $8,000 to the City Council. Commissioner Brown seconded. Motion passed unanimously. <br />37 <br />38 5) HARRIET ALEXANDER NATURE CENTER (HANC) SIGNAGE REVIEW <br />39 Staff provided an overview of the seven different renditions of entrance signs for the Harriet <br />40 Alexander Nature Center (HANC). The signs will be located at the pathway entrance of <br />41 HANC near the parking area. All of the signs are made out of CORTEN weathering steel <br />42 with either raised or engraved lettering. <br />43 <br />1 <br />4 <br /> <br />
