street. Attachment E shows the additional parking restrictions that will be <br />implemented. Staff installed the signs prior to the fair a will monitor the <br />restrictions this year and consider adjustments in future years. <br />Youth Members: Staff has started to solicit for Youth Members for this commission as <br />well as the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Human Rights, Inclusion and <br />Engagement Commission. To date we have not received any interest. However, these <br />positions are typically filled through work with the area High Schools and/or direct <br />recruitment by Commission members. We hope to have some candidates by the time we <br />meet again in September. Attached is a flyer that can be used by the Commission <br />Members to help us recruit for these openings. <br />City Council Update: <br />• August <br />o Council received presentation on PWETC recommendation to establish athird <br />tiered rate. Council discussed the proposal. They took no action but recommended <br />staff focus on education and outreach. Staff will work to send information out to <br />high water users on how to reduce water use. We will also look at using a possible <br />Met Council grant to offer rebates for water efficient appliances and smart <br />irrigation controllers. <br />o Approved Ramsey County Master Signal Agreement <br />o Approved Ramsey County Library Entrance Modification Cooperative <br />Agreement. <br />o Approved Parkview Elementary Stormwater Project Cooperative Agreement. <br />o City Manager presented City Manager Budget. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Installed signs for State Fair Parking <br />o Completed second sweep <br />o Ongoing Streetscape maintenance. Weeding, pruning. <br />o Started 5th mow. <br />o Re -painting of message pavement markings completed. <br />o Began crack sealing roads. <br />o Ongoing repair of failed catch basins. <br />o Ongoing mill and patching of delamination streets. <br />o Ongoing spray injection patching of delamination streets. <br />o Ongoing compost turning continuing Friday. Deliveries of compost. <br />o Ongoing sign repair and installs. <br />o Some tree trimming. Minor wind related limbs down. <br />o Ongoing debris clearing of pond inlets and outlets related to continual rainfall. <br />Water and Sanitary Sewer <br />o Continued collecting sanitary sewer flow data every other Friday <br />o Completed flushing and inspecting private hydrants <br />o Ongoing hydrant painting. <br />o Continued the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Cleaning program <br />o Collected water samples for bacteriological and disinfectant by-product testing <br />o Continued replacing meter heads and radios <br />o Continued working with engineers and contractors on the Booster Station Phase 2 <br />proj ect <br />o Continued working with city engineers and consulting engineers on the Femwood <br />lift station project <br />o Continued working with engineers and contractor on County Road C project <br />
