Consideration of a Request to Perform an Abatement for Unresolved Viola-
tions of City Code at 405 Highway 36
Building Official Dave Englund briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the
Request For Council Action and related attachments dated August 12, 2019.
Mayor Roe asked if there are both unlicensed and inoperable vehicles or is the is-
sue being just one or the other.
Mr. Englund indicated the vehicles are unlicensed.
Mr. Ron Ide, 405 Highway 36 W., stated one of the vehicles on the property is his
son's who is waiting to get his license and the tabs came due without realizing
those were expired. He indicated he did get the tabs for both vehicles today. He
noted there are not any unlicensed vehicles on his property now and both vehicles
were operable.
Mayor Roe noted one issue is one or more vehicles are parked on what is known
as an unimproved surface, not a paved driveway. He asked if that is still the case.
Mr. Ide explained his driveway is long and paved all the way down. Both vehi-
cles are on cement so he did not know why it would be unimproved.
Mr. Englund used a photo to show the area that is unimproved where the shed and
trailer are located.
