Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,August 12, 2019
Page 4
Mr. Ide indicated the area is crushed rock where the trailer is parked.
Mr. England explained the area where vehicles are parked has to be concrete or
asphalt.
Mayor Roe thought if the only issue remaining was vehicles parked on an unim-
proved surface, it could easily be remedied by moving the vehicles to an im-
proved surface.
Mr. Ide indicated those vehicles can be moved to the driveway. He noted the tabs
are currently on the vehicles.
Councilmember Willmus suggesting tabling this item until the next meeting to
give staff the opportunity to verify what has been discussed at the meeting, that
the tabs are on the vehicles, and the vehicles have been moved to an improved
surface.
Willmus moved, Etten seconded, to table this item for staff verification of com-
pliance.
Roll Call
Ayes: Etten, Willmus, Laliberte, Groff, and Roe.
Nays: None
f. Consider a Request to Perform an Abatement for an Unresolved Violations
of City Code at 2745 Hamline Avenue
Building Official Dave Englund briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the
Request for Council Action and related attachments dated August 12, 2019.
Mr. Charles Klinkenburg, 2745 Hamline Avenue N., stated he received all of the
city correspondence and did not have the money to make the repairs. He noted
this was done accidentally by a work vehicle. He indicated he will be fixing this
but currently has hospital bills from a newborn. He also explained the insurance
company has become involved and given him money to make the needed repairs
to his home. He apologized for the inconvenience.
Mayor Roe asked Mr. Klinkenburg if he planned to use a contractor or do the re-
pairs himself.
Mr. Klinkenburg indicated he will be making the repairs himself.
Mayor Roe asked what the timeframe would be.
