REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: October 7, 2019 <br />Item No.: 7.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting with the City Council <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 Periodically, the Parks and RecreationCommission meetswith the City Counciltoreview and <br />3 discuss accomplishments, activities and work items. <br />4 <br />5 At the June 17, 2019 annual joint meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission suggested a <br />6 program to address the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) epidemic in Roseville utilizing the identified <br />7 excess Parks and Recreation cash reserves above the targeted amount of 25%. <br />8 <br />9 After discussion, theCity Council requested that the Parks and Recreation Commission meet <br />10 with the Finance Commission for input. Vice Chair Hoag and Commissioner Stoner did that and <br />11 reported the results to the Commission (minutes of that meeting are included in your packet). <br />12 The purpose of this joint meeting is to report to you and have a further discussion on this topic <br />13 and the Parks and Recreation Fund targeted reserve levels. <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 Prepared by: Lonnie Brokke, Parks and Recreation Director <br />17 <br />Attachments: A.
