To: Parks and Recreation Commission From: Lonnie Brokke Date: October 30, 2019 Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on Thursday,November 7, 2019 1.Introductionsto Include Youth Commission Applicant This is an opportunity for all commission members to introduce themselves and indicate why you had interest in the Parks and Recreation Commission and for youth commission applicant Corbin Carlson to introduce himself. Corbin’s application is included in your packet. Chair Baggenstoss and Vice-Chair Hoag met with Corbin to get to know him and invited him to your meeting to sit in. If it works for all, the next step is to make a recommendation to the City Council. It does not need to happen at this meeting, but could if it makes sense. 2. Public Comment Invited 3. Approval of Minutes of the October 1, 2019Meeting Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of October 1, 2019. Please be prepared to approve/amend. Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend meeting minutes of October 1, 2019. 4. Natural Resources Stewardship and Volunteer Review As possible, throughout the year and seasons, various staff members attend your meeting to discuss what is going on in their particular area and gather your thoughts and feedback. A couple of months ago Commission Member O’Brien suggested that Parks Superintendent Jim Taylor and City Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs attend your meeting to present on the Natural Resources Stewardship Program status, progress and future needs. Both will be at the meeting. This is an opportunity for you to provide your feedback and suggestions as we continue to progress. Requested Commission Action: Hear presentation, discuss and provide feedback. 5. Follow Up to Joint Meeting with the City Council You had a jointmeeting with theCity Council on October 7, 2019 to check back in on the proposed Accelerated Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Program. This is an opportunity to debrief on that meeting. Requested Commission Action:Discuss and debrief.
