To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />From: Lonnie Brokke <br />Date: October 30, 2019 <br />Re: Notes for Commission Meeting on Thursday,November 7, 2019 <br />1.Introductionsto Include Youth Commission Applicant <br />This is an opportunity for all commission members to introduce themselves and <br />indicate why you had interest in the Parks and Recreation Commission and for youth <br />commission applicant Corbin Carlson to introduce himself. Corbin’s application is <br />included in your packet. <br /> <br />Chair Baggenstoss and Vice-Chair Hoag met with Corbin to get to know him and <br />invited him to your meeting to sit in. If it works for all, the next step is to make a <br />recommendation to the City Council. It does not need to happen at this meeting, but <br />could if it makes sense. <br /> <br />2. Public Comment Invited <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes of the October 1, 2019Meeting <br />Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of October 1, 2019. Please be prepared to <br />approve/amend. <br />Requested Commission Action: Approve/amend meeting minutes of October 1, <br />2019. <br /> <br />4. Natural Resources Stewardship and Volunteer Review <br />As possible, throughout the year and seasons, various staff members attend your <br />meeting to discuss what is going on in their particular area and gather your thoughts <br />and feedback. <br />A couple of months ago Commission Member O’Brien suggested that Parks <br />Superintendent Jim Taylor and City Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs attend your <br />meeting to present on the Natural Resources Stewardship Program status, progress <br />and future needs. Both will be at the meeting. <br /> <br />This is an opportunity for you to provide your feedback and suggestions as we <br />continue to progress. <br />Requested Commission Action: Hear presentation, discuss and provide feedback. <br />5. Follow Up to Joint Meeting with the City Council <br />You had a jointmeeting with theCity Council on October 7, 2019 to check back in <br />on the proposed Accelerated Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Program. This is an <br />opportunity to debrief on that meeting. <br />Requested Commission Action:Discuss and debrief. <br /> <br />
