80Goals that Cash has set for 2020 are to: <br />81Provide multiple programs and events with emphasis on culture awareness <br />82Increase HANC involvement in the MN Phenology Network to provide more opportunities <br />83for community members interested in doing Citizen Science <br />84Initiate an ongoing parent/child Art in Nature program with a local biological illustrator <br />85 <br />86Commissioner Stoner shared that hewas surprised by the usage data at HANC ashe would not have <br />87thought that walk-ins wouldbe the second highest user group. <br />88 <br />89Commissioner O’Brien relayedthat she volunteers at HANC and that it is a great place to bring little <br />90ones who have cabin fever. Staff agreed that it isa great place for kids – but also for adults. <br />91Everyone can find something at the nature center as there is alibrary, informative displays, live <br />92animals, knowledgeable volunteers/staff, taxidermy, etc. <br />93 <br />94Chair Baggenstoss asked about the current status of the building. Staff noted that the renewal <br />95program did provide significant updates to the building andreplaced a section of the boardwalk. <br />96However, staff is continually evaluating conditions to assessneedto ensure HANC stays a vibrant <br />97facility. The older section of the boardwalk will be coming up for consideration at some point in the <br />98future. <br />99 <br />1005)EMERALD ASH BORER (EAB) PROPOSAL CONTINUED DISCUSSION <br />101Staff reviewed the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Proposal and what a typical schedule might look like <br />102depending on when it would start.
