Minnesota Department of Transportation updates: <br />• I-35W MnPASS project- <br />httD://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/broiects/35wnorthmnDass/index.html <br />o Construct MnPASS Express Lanes (one lane in each direction) in the middle of <br />existing I-35 W between County Road C in Roseville and Lexington Avenue <br />(County Rd 17) in Blaine. <br />o Repave I-35W and ramps between County Road C in Roseville to just north of <br />Sunset Ave (County Road 53) in Lino Lakes. <br />o Replace and repair bridges along the project area <br />o Install noise walls on the east side of I-35W just north of the County Road C <br />ramps to County Road D. <br />o Contract was awarded in October 2018 to Ames Construction which had the <br />winning Design/Build Proposal. Total cost is $208 million. <br />o Major roadwork is completed for 2019. <br />Miscellaneous Updates: <br />• Capitol Region Watershed's Parkview Storm Water project is underway. Work will be <br />completed in spring of 2020. <br />City Council Update: <br />• Staff and the City Council have kicked off the Civic Campus Master Plan study and are <br />working with the consultant to collect data from City staff. In late March/early April we <br />will have outreach meetings with other stakeholders. The plan is expected to be complete <br />in late August/early September. <br />• The City Council recently had discussions about the City's Tree Preservation Plan, <br />primarily around the potential high cost for paying for the required replacement of trees if <br />a developer can't fit them on the developed lot. This was specific to small residential <br />developments of one to three lots. <br />Forestry Task Force Update: <br />• The Forestry Task Force, which is comprised of members of the Parks and Recreation, <br />Planning, and Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission, met on <br />January 22, 2020, to discuss current City ordinances related to Forestry. Attached are <br />notes from the PWETC Chair. They plan to meet next on Wednesday, February 26. <br />Included with the notes are the proposed changes to City Ordinances. Staff will be <br />bringing forth several ordinance changes in March (for action in April or beyond) and <br />will include these if the Commission is supportive. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o Ongoing winter tree trimming of City Blvd. trees. <br />o Ongoing monthly compost turning. <br />o Ongoing street sign maintenance and repair. <br />o Hauled and restored 10 water breaks 1/27/20- 2/14/20. <br />0 9 of the last water breaks were patched with concrete. <br />o From 1/18/20 to 2/20/20 there have been 3 additional full plow events. ( 11/27/19- <br />1/18/20 atotal of 9 full plow events). Season snowfall total by Public Works as <br />of 2/20/20 measurement 38". <br />o Brine maker was purchased 1" week in February. Plumbing and electrical should <br />be completed week of 2/21/20. <br />
