REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: March 23, 2020 Item No.: 7.c Department Approval City Manager Approval Item Description: Consider Appointment of City Council Representatives to Visit Roseville Board and the 35W North Gateway Policy Advisory Committee 1 B ACKGROUND 2 There is a need to appoint City Council members to two policy boards, the Visit Roseville board 3 and the 35W North Gateway Policy Advisory Committee 4 5 Visit Roseville 6 Currently the City Manager and Mayor Roe serve on the Visit Roseville board (formerly known 7 as Roseville Visitors Association). The City Manager is the official City representative on the 8 board per the Visit Roseville by-laws. Mayor Roe has served on the board for two 3-year terms. 9 The Visit Roseville bylaws limit members to servingtwo terms on the board but does allow for 10 up to a one-year extension of board service. Mayor Roe is now serving on the board for his 11 seventh years as allowed under the by-laws and would like to make the spot available for another 12 City Council member. 13 14 The Visit Roseville Board meets six times a year from Noon to 1:30 p.m. in the conference room th 15 on the 9 floor of Rosedale Towers. The remaining board meeting dates for the year are as 16 follows: 17 18 Wednesday, April 29 19 Wednesday, May 27 20 Wednesday, September 30 21 Wednesday, October 28 22 Wednesday, December 16 23 24 In addition, the board has an outing in the summer to visit area an attraction or business. This 25 summer a trolley tour of Roseville is being planned for Juneto see all of the Roseville in Bloom 26 statues. A board member is also expected to serve on a committee that works on items between 27 the board meetings.
