ATTACHMENT C <br />494 a manner contrary to the provisions of City Code or in a dangerous or unsafe manner, the code <br />495 official is authorized to issue a stop work order. <br />496 2. Issuance.A stop work order shall be in writing and shall be given to the owner of the property, to <br />497 the owner’s authorized agent, or to the person doing the work. The stop work order may be posted <br />498 in a conspicuous location on the property if no one is onsite to receive said order. Upon issuance <br />499 or posting, the cited work shall immediately cease. The stop work order shall state the reason for <br />500 the order and the conditions under which the cited work is authorized to resume. <br />501 3. Emergencies.Where an emergency exists, the code official shall not be required to give written <br />502 notice prior to stopping the work. <br />503 4. Failure to comply.Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop <br />504 work order or having the premises posted with a stop work order, except such work as that person <br />505 is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be subject to an <br />506 Administrative Offense detailed in City Code Chapter 102and subject to fines as per the adopted <br />507 fee schedule of the municipality. <br />508 <br />509 906.04: DEFINITIONS: <br />510 A. General <br />511 1. Scope. Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following terms shall, for the purposes <br />512 of this code, have the meanings shown in this chapter. <br />513 2. Interchangeability. Words stated in the present tense include the future; words stated in <br />514 the masculine gender include the feminine and neuter; the singular number includes the <br />515 plural and the plural, the singular. <br />516 3. Terms defined in other codes.Where terms are not defined in this code and are defined <br />517 in the International Building Code, International Fire Code, International Zoning Code, <br />518 International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Existing <br />519 Building Code or the ICC Electrical Code, such terms shall have the meanings ascribed <br />520 to them as in those codes. <br />521 4. Terms not defined. Where terms are not defined through the methods authorized by <br />522 this section, such terms shall have ordinarily accepted meanings such as the context <br />523 implies. <br />524 5. Parts. Whenever the words “dwelling unit,” “dwelling,” “premises,” “building,” <br />525 “rooming house,” “rooming unit” “housekeeping unit” or “story” are stated in this code, <br />526 they shall be construed as though they were followed by the words “or any part thereof.” <br />527 B.General Definitions <br />528 ANCHORED. Secured in a manner that provides positive connection. <br />529 APPROVED. Approved by Acceptable to the code official. <br />530 BASEMENT. That portion of a building which is partly or completely below grade. <br />531 BATHROOM. A room containing plumbing fixtures including a bathtub or shower. <br />532 BEDROOM. See Sleeping Room Any room or space used or intended to be used <br />533 for sleeping purposes. <br />534 CODE OFFICIAL. The official who is charged with the administration and enforcement <br />535 of this code, or any duly authorized representative. <br />536 CONDEMN.
