Supply.The water supply system shall be installed and maintained to provide a supply of <br />1259 water to plumbing fixtures, devices and appurtenances in sufficient volume and at <br />1260 pressures adequate to enable the fixtures to function properly, safely, and free from defects <br />1261 and leaks. <br />1262 4. Water heating facilities. Water heating facilities shall be properly installed, <br />1263 maintained and capable of providing an adequate amount of water to be drawn at every <br />1264 required sink, lavatory, bathtub, shower and laundry facility at a temperature of not less <br />1265 than 110°F (43°C). A gas-burning water heater shall not be located in any bathroom, <br />1266 toilet room, bedroom or other occupied room normally kept closed, unless adequate <br />1267 combustion air is provided. An approved combination temperature and pressure-relief <br />1268 valve and relief valve discharge pipe shall be properly installed and maintained on <br />1269 waterheaters. <br />1270 F. Nonpotable water reuse systems. Nonpotable water reuse systems and rainwater collection and <br />1271 conveyance systems shall be maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. Where such systems are <br />1272 not properly maintained, the systems shall be repaired to provide for safe and sanitary conditions, or <br />1273 the system shall be abandoned in accordance with Section 1702.15 of the Minnesota State Plumbing <br />1274 Code. <br />1275 1. Abandonment of systems. Where a nonpotable water reuse system or a rainwater collection and <br />1276 distribution system is not maintained or the owner ceases use of the system, the system shall be <br />1277 abandoned in accordance with Section 1702.15 of the Minnesota State Plumbing Code. <br />1278 G. Sanitary Drainage System <br />1279 1. General. All plumbing fixtures shall be properly connected to either a public sewer system or to <br />1280 an approved private sewage disposal system. <br />1281 2. Maintenance. Every plumbing stack, vent, waste and sewer line shall function properly and <br />1282 be kept free from obstructions, leaks and defects. <br />1283 3. Grease interceptors. Grease interceptors and automatic grease removal devices shall be <br />1284 maintained in accordance with this code and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Grease <br />1285 interceptors and automatic grease removal devices shall be regularly serviced and cleaned to <br />1286 prevent the discharge of oil, grease, and other substances harmful or hazardous to the building <br />1287 drainage system, the public sewer, the private sewage disposal system or the sewage treatment <br />1288 plant or processes. Records of maintenance, cleaning and repairs shall be available for <br />1289 inspection by the code official <br />1290 H. Storm Drainage <br />1291 1. General. Drainage of roofs and paved areas, yards and courts, and other open areas on the <br />1292 premises shall not be discharged in a manner that creates a public nuisance. <br />1293 906.08: MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS: <br />1294 A. General <br />1295 1.Scope. The provisions of this chapter shall govern the minimum mechanical and electrical <br />1296 facilities and equipment to be provided. <br />1297 2. Responsibility. The owner of the structure shall provide and maintain mechanical and <br />1298 electrical facilities and equipment in compliance with these requirements.
