Records. Records shall be maintained of all system inspections, tests and maintenance <br />1589 required by the referenced standards. <br />1590 a. Records information. Initial records shall include the: name of the installation <br />1591 contractor; type of components installed; manufacturer of the components; location <br />1592 and number of components installed per floor; and manufacturers' operation and <br />1593 maintenance instruction manuals. Such records shall be maintained for the life of <br />1594 the installation. <br />1595 6. Systems out of service.Where a required fire protection system is out of service, the fire <br />1596 department and the fire code official shall be notified immediately and, where required by <br />1597 the fire code official, either the building shall be evacuated or an approved fire watch <br />1598 shall be provided for all occupants left unprotected by the shutdown until the fire <br />1599 protection system has been returned to service. Where utilized, fire watches shall be <br />1600 provided with not less than one approved means for notification of the fire department <br />1601 and shall not have duties beyond performing constant patrols of the protected premises <br />1602 and keeping watch for fires. Actions shall be taken in accordance with Section 901 of the <br />1603 Minnesota State Fire Code to bring the systems back in service. <br />1604 a.Emergency impairments. Where unplanned impairments of fire protection <br />1605 systems occur, appropriate emergency action shall be taken to minimize potential <br />1606 injury and damage. The impairment coordinator shall implement the steps outlined <br />1607 in Section 901of the Minnesota State Fire Code. <br />1608 b.Removal of or tampering with equipment. It shall be unlawful for any person to <br />1609 remove, tamper with or otherwise disturb any fire hydrant, fire detection and <br />1610 alarmsystem, fire suppression system or other fire appliance required by this code <br />1611 except for the purposes of extinguishing fire, training, recharging or making <br />36 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
