REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Date: June 22, 2020
Item No.: 7.f
Department Approval City Manager Approval
Item Description: Adopt a resolution approving the Fairview Fire Station Minor Plat(PF20-006)
1
B ACKGROUND
Application Information
Applicant: City of Roseville
Location: 2501 Fairview Avenue
Property Owner: City of Roseville
Open House Meeting: N/A
Application Submittal: Submitted and considered complete April 1, 2020
City Action Deadline: n/a
General Site Information
Land Use Context
Existing Land Use Guiding Zoning
Water tower and decommissioned fire station MU-4 INST
Site
Mixed commercial uses E-2 O/BP-1
North
Various utilities MU-4 RB-2
West
Retail MU-4 RB
East
Retail MU-4 RB
South
Notable Natural Features: none
Planning File History: none
1 Minor Plat Analysis
2 When exercising the “quasi-judicial” authority on a subdivision request, the role of the City is to
3 determine the facts associated with a particular request and apply those facts to the legal standards
4 contained in the ordinance and relevant state law. In general, if the facts indicate the application meets
5 the relevant legal standards and will not compromise the public health, safety, and general welfare, then
6 the applicant is likely entitled to the approval. The City is, however, able to add conditions to a
7 subdivision approval to ensure that potential impacts to parks, schools, roads, storm sewers, and other
8 public infrastructure on and around the subject property are adequately addressed. Subdivisions may
9 also be modified to promote the public health, safety, general welfare, convenience, and good order of
10 the community, and to provide for the orderly, economical, and safe development of land, and to
11 promote housing affordability for all levels.
7f RCA
