The standard cart approximate dimensions shall be: <br />36-gallon cart 36" height x 18.5" wide x 23.5" deer <br />64-gallon cart 39" height x 25" wide x 31" deep <br />96-gallon cart 41" height x 30" wide x 36" deep <br />If the Contractor owns the carts, cart surface shall be smooth for ease <br />in cleaning. Carts shall be consistent in colors and design with a <br />recycling symbol that is at least 4" tall on two sides and approved lid, <br />so as to be easily identified by the resident/customer and the <br />Contractor Driver as the container for recyclable materials collection. <br />The City shall approve the cart, color and labeling prior to <br />manufacture. <br />The Driver is required to record and report to Contractor Dispatch <br />the location of any cart that is damaged and that cart shall be repaired <br />or replaced by the Contractor or designated subcontractor within one <br />week of the report of damage. <br />Damaged or unusable carts must be recycled. All costs incurred in <br />recycling carts shall be the responsibility of the Contractor, at no <br />additional cost to the City. The Contractor will provide <br />documentation showing the City where the carts were recycled. <br />Multi -unit dwellings (Option One Contractor -Owned Carts) <br />The Contractor or designated subcontractor shall purchase, own, <br />ship, assemble, deliver, store/inventory, maintain and distribute 96- <br />gallon carts (and cardboard dumpsters where requested) for all multi- <br />unit dwellings as specified in definition 4.22 in sufficient quantity to <br />adequately contain the materials between weekly collections, to be <br />placed in recycling stations as specified in definition 4.25. The <br />Contractor or designated subcontractor will maintain a sufficient new <br />and replacement cart inventory for both the initial cart rollout and <br />ongoing cart replacements (e.g. new customers, service changes, <br />replacement of damaged carts, etc.) during the term of the contract. <br />Ongoing cart distribution shall be done on a weekly basis. <br />Proposers must clearly specify their proposed single -sort cart <br />manufacturer. <br />Multi -unit buildings can also be serviced by using single sort <br />dumpsters, or another appropriately sized receptacle to contain the <br />recycling materials. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor or <br />designated subcontractor to purchase, own, ship, assemble, deliver, <br />store/inventory, maintain and distribute the appropriate sized <br />receptacles. <br />15 <br />
